Leave the radio on a windowsill, balcony or clipped to your rucksack. The panel on top slowly tops up the battery during the day, with no socket and no effort.

When the power goes out, the internet drops and your phone dies, MAYDRIX keeps working. For you and the people you love.
Every order is sent with tracked delivery and usually arrives within 5-6 working days.
Delivery for 1 radio costs £4.99. Orders from £60 (e.g. 2 radios) ship free.
You have 14 days to return your order, no reason needed. Details are on the Returns page in the footer.
Most days MAYDRIX simply sits in a drawer. But when the lights go out, you're not hunting for candles, counting your phone's battery percentage or wondering what's going on. You have a plan B that fits in your hand.
Better to have it and not need it
On 28 April 2025, Spain and Portugal lost power within seconds. In some places the power was out for almost 24 hours: lights, internet and card terminals stopped working. People followed the news on the radio, and portable radios sold out within hours.
The UK government's Be Ready campaign, launched in October 2026, asks every household to keep three days of essentials at home, including a battery or wind-up FM radio, a torch and a charged power bank. MAYDRIX is all three in one, ready in a drawer before you need it.

When it helps

A winter storm, a fault on the network or high winds. Suddenly the whole house goes dark and you need to save your phone battery, because you don't know when the power will be back.
MAYDRIX waits in a drawer, ready to go. One press turns on the LED torch, and the radio tells you what's happening and how long the outage might last.

In a major power cut, the internet and mobile network can go down with it. News apps fall silent and you have no idea what's happening outside.
FM and AM radio picks up the signal straight from the transmitter. It needs no internet, SIM card or mobile signal, so you can hear news and announcements when other sources fail.

An ordinary battery radio goes quiet once the batteries run out, and in an emergency new ones can be hard to find. MAYDRIX has a built-in rechargeable battery you can top up in three ways.
Day to day, you charge it with a USB-C cable. Without mains power, crank it for 3-5 minutes or leave it in the sun and the solar panel tops up the battery, more slowly than a cable but with no socket needed.

A flat tyre on an unlit road, a dead phone or a long wait in a night-time jam. In moments like these, light and a charged phone are what count.
MAYDRIX weighs around 0.3 kg and fits in the glovebox or a rucksack. The LED torch lights up the wheel and the power bank gives your phone an emergency top-up so you can call for help.

Older parents and grandparents often live alone, and during an outage it can be hard to reach them. You don't know whether they have light or know what's going on.
They can use MAYDRIX without instructions: two dials, a switch and a torch button. No screen, no menus and no app, just like the old radio in the kitchen.

Pick a feature and see how it works in practice.

FM and AM radio that works without internet
Pick up local and national stations with the telescopic antenna. When the internet and mobile signal go down, you still hear news and announcements.
A bright LED torch at the press of a button
One press of the button on top turns on a bright LED light in the front of the radio. Handy in a power cut, in the garden shed or by the car at night.
A power bank that rescues a flat phone
Plug your phone into the USB port on the radio for an emergency boost. Enough to call your family or send a message.
Hand crank and solar panel when there's no power
Crank for 3-5 minutes to top up the battery by hand. During the day, the solar panel on top of the radio adds power without a cable.
Power without a socket
Each one charges the same built-in 2000 mAh battery that powers the radio, torch and power bank.
